Hi,
Since Die Kunst Der Fugue is really my favourite Bach's work I was
thinking to purchase is on the Neue Bach-Ausgabe (NBA) Bärenreiter
Edition. That is Serie VIII, 2 (BA 5082) Partitur. Surprisingly, it is
the most expensive volume (216€ or $260 ) of the whole NBA. I'd just
want to know if anyone knows why or if it have some special pages,
facsimiles...
Thanks!

That does not sound too expensive for a book like that. Especially in the U.S. scores from abroad are often well over $100 each.

Baerenfreiter has also issued some volumes from the NBA in miniature scores. So that may be the route you wish to go. The NBA score edited Smend is available as a miniature score.

I notuice there is also a facsimile. But that would be especially expensive.

Opps! I looked up the B-minor Mass (ed. Smend). But the Art of Fugue is surely available likewise.

If cost is an issue, you just want the music, and you don't mind using your
own printer to print out a 100-page score, there is a free Urtext edition
available in PDF format from the Werner Icking Music Archive, at
http://icking-music-archive.org/ByComposer/J.S.Bach.html. The late Mr.
Icking's Bach editions have the reputation of being generally reliable.

Thanks, I'll have a look to these but I already have it on Henle Verlag
paper edition. What I was looking for was a "deluxe" edition, and I am
sure NBA is what I need but I just wanted to know what is so expensive
and what does it include also.
Thanks!
